SINCE 1820, OUR DOMAIN IS DEDICATED TO THE LAVENDER CULTURE

The story of our domain “le Château du bois” begins in 1820, in the hills of Haute-Provence at the highest point of “Monts de Vaucluse” (1100 m of altitude), a region of southern France that lies between the Alps and the Mediterranean sea. Here, for over a century, our 80 hectares of fine lavender fields have been cultivated with the traditions and techniques of this unspoiled land where every step of the production process - the seeding, the harvesting and the distillation is truly inspired by rigorous environmental standards and ancient techniques.

Since 1890, a family passion

Producers and distillers from father to son, from the very beginning the Lincelé family is committed to transmit and protect a forgotten traditional cultivation methods related to their family land hidden in the mountains and showing its discreet beauty like the heart breaking vu of the blue lavender fields. Born in this land and proud of their

origins, they defend this exceptional plant : the fine lavender, the blue gold of Provence.

SINCE 1991 , CREATION OF THE LAVENDER MUSEUM

To share and discover the benefits and the charms of the fine lavender, the Lincele family open the doors of his family museum to over 35000 visitors coming every year from all over the world to Coustellet, at the heart of the Regional Parc of Luberon. A sumptuous collection of copper stills, traditional clothing and family pictures from private collections allow you to share the history of this ancient plant and “Le Château du Bois” universe.
